Description:
We're Hiring: SEN & Specialist Tutors
£23.79–£35 per hour | Flexible hours | Multiple locations
Turn your teaching skills into meaningful change.
Not every learner thrives in a traditional classroom. Some need a different approach, a little extra patience and someone who can see their potential beyond the challenges they face.
That's where you come in.
Remedy Tutors is expanding its network of specialist educators and is looking for SEN Tutors, SEND Teachers and experienced education professionals to deliver tailored one-to-one tuition to children and young people who need additional support.
Whether your background is in teaching, tutoring, special education or learning support, this is an opportunity to use your skills where they can have a real impact.
What makes this opportunity different?
Forget one-size-fits-all teaching. Every learner has different strengths, challenges and ambitions. Your role will be to understand those differences and create learning experiences that work for the individual.
Depending on the assignment, you could be helping a pupil rebuild their confidence in maths, develop their reading skills, improve their engagement with education or work towards personalised learning targets.
You'll deliver sessions in homes, schools or community settings, with flexible opportunities to fit around your availability.
Who are we looking for?
We're keen to connect with education professionals who can bring both knowledge and understanding to their work.
You could be a:
Specialist SEN or SEND Tutor
Qualified Teacher or experienced subject tutor
Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant with relevant experience
SEMH Tutor or Alternative Provision Tutor
Specialist Dyslexia Tutor or SpLD Tutor
Education professional experienced in one-to-one interventions
You don't need to fit one particular job title. What matters is your ability to engage learners, adapt your approach and help pupils make progress.
The learners you'll support
Our tutoring opportunities may involve working with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Other learning difficulties, disabilities and barriers to education
Some learners may have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), while others may need support to re-engage with learning outside mainstream education.
You'll adapt your teaching to each pupil, establish achievable goals and create a positive environment where learning feels possible.
What will you bring to the table?
We're looking for tutors who can combine effective teaching with a flexible, learner-centred approach.
You should ideally have:
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND.
The ability to plan engaging lessons and adjust resources to individual needs.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships with pupils and families.
A patient, reliable and encouraging attitude.
The ability to monitor progress and provide clear feedback.
A sound understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
Relevant qualifications such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE or specialist SEN qualifications are welcome where applicable. Level 3–5 education or SEN qualifications and experience with intervention programmes are also valued.
An Enhanced DBS certificate is required where applicable, or you must be willing to undertake the necessary checks.
What's in it for you?
Competitive pay
Indicative rates of £23.79–£35 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, specialist skills and assignment requirements.
Flexibility
Explore assignments that work around your availability and other commitments.
Purposeful work
See the difference your teaching makes through individualised support and meaningful progress.
Broader experience
Develop your skills across different learning needs, educational settings and intervention approaches.
