SEN Teaching Assistant 

Start date: September 2024

Location: Bournemouth and Christchurch

Hourly rate: £12.82

Full-time (term-time only)  

Are you interested in working with pupils with additional needs or challenging behaviour? 

GSL Education are currently working closely with a variety of primary schools in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas to help support their staffing needs. There is a focus on finding nurturing individuals who have a passion for providing personalised support for pupils who need additional support and provision in order for them to be able to access the lessons and build positive relationships with both adults and peers.

The ideal candidate required for this role will be resilient, committed and have a positive attitude to better the lives of their pupils. The role will involve supporting both teachers and pupils, helping to keep the students engaged in their learning and enjoying their time at school.

To be successful for this role, the ideal candidate will; 

Have experience in supporting children/ young people with special educational needs (SEN)  
Comfortable working in environments with challenging needs and behaviour 
A passion and desire to work with students that have additional needs 
Be available 5 days per week as continuity and commitment is important to help build positive rapport with pupils
Experience desirable in: 

Mainstream or SEN schools  
Youth Work 
Sports coaches and mentors 
Graduates in Sport, Psychology, Drama and Counselling and Therapy

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
