We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team on a supply basis, supporting primary schools across the Sandwell area. This role offers a unique opportunity to work flexibly within a variety of educational settings, catering to the diverse needs of students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
Role Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, Global Delay, and complex behaviour.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Support the social and emotional development of pupils, promoting inclusion and positive engagement.
* Engage in personal care tasks as required by individual pupil needs.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting is essential.
* Confidence and proficiency in managing challenging behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies.
* Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse needs and backgrounds of pupils with SEND.
* Relevant qualifications or training in supporting pupils with SEN (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN Diploma) is desirable.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (we can assist with this if necessary).
