Are you an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs? Are you looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a specialist school?
A welcoming SEN School in Reading is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The school provides a supportive and structured environment where pupils receive the individualised support they need to make progress both academically and personally.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with Teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils throughout the school day. You will help pupils engage with learning, develop independence and build positive relationships within the school environment.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
Encouraging pupils to develop independence and confidence
Supporting communication, social interaction and engagement
Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Working collaboratively with Teachers and wider SEN staff

Reading location with good public transport linksThe school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, reliable and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning. Previous experience within an SEN or education setting would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant experience in care, youth work or other support roles are also encouraged to apply.
