SEN Teaching Assistant - Gloucester

A welcoming specialist school in Gloucester is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join its team full time. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, learning needs, sensory needs and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support.
Help pupils access learning and develop independence.
Support communication, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
Use positive behaviour and restorative approaches.
Work closely with teachers and specialist staff.This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or graduate who wants to build a career in education, Psychology, therapy or specialist support. You will gain hands-on experience in a supportive SEN setting and develop skills in communication, behaviour support and inclusive learning.
The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, nurturing and enthusiastic. Previous experience with children or vulnerable adults is beneficial, but personal experience and a genuine passion for helping young people are also valued.
