Are you a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a massive, measurable difference?

We are working with a wonderful, close-knit Special School in the Chorley area that is truly at the heart of its local community. Catering to children and young people aged 4-19, this small and specialised school of just over 130 pupils takes immense pride in creating a big impact on the lives of its students and their families.

If you thrive in a safe, happy, and well-regulated learning environment where strong relationships come first, this consistent Monday-to-Friday role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN TA:

Support pupils aged 4-19 using a highly individualised, "one-size-fits-one" approach to learning.

Deliver tailored interventions to help pupils develop vital independence and key life skills.

Work collaboratively with class teachers during the core school day to maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.

Foster strong, positive relationships with pupils, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Assist with the emotional, social, and physical development of pupils, celebrating every milestone.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), or Speech and Language needs.

Approach: A patient, nurturing, and adaptable individual who understands that no two learners are the same.

Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute to a well-regulated, positive behaviour support environment.

Availability: Ability to commit to the full school week, working 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Why Join This Team?

Be part of a small, supportive "family" school where every child is known by name.

Work within a school that prioritises staff well-being alongside high-quality, enriching pupil experiences.

Enjoy brilliant working hours (8:30 am - 3:30 pm) allowing for a fantastic work-life balance outside of school.

Easily accessible via excellent transport links from Preston, Blackburn, and surrounding Lancashire areas.
