SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) – Enfield

Location: Enfield, London
Pay: £90–£100 per day
Contract: Full Time, Temporary
Start Date: 1 September 2026

Understand the Child, Not Just the Diagnosis

Teach Now is looking for an experienced and thoughtful SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) for a full-time temporary role in Enfield from September 2026.

The successful candidate will understand that autism presents differently in every child. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD), you’ll help pupils access learning, communicate effectively and navigate the school day with greater confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing one-to-one and small-group ASD support.

Using clear routines, visual prompts and structured activities.

Supporting communication and social interaction.

Recognising sensory needs and signs of dysregulation.

Helping pupils transition successfully between activities.

Adapting classroom work alongside the class teacher or SENCO.

Encouraging independence rather than creating dependency.

Recording progress and sharing observations with staff.

We’re looking for:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with autism is strongly preferred. Knowledge of visual timetables, PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies or other communication approaches would be beneficial. Most importantly, you’ll be patient, observant, consistent and genuinely interested in individualised SEND support.

What’s on offer?
£90–£100 per day, full-time September work and the opportunity to deepen your ASD and SEND experience in a London school environment.

If you’re an SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) who knows how powerful the right support can be, we want to hear from you.
