Teaching Personnel are recruiting experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kirkby from September 2026.

We are considering candidates for a number of support roles across the school and are looking for individuals who can make an immediate positive impact on pupils with additional needs. Whether your experience comes from a primary school classroom or a specialist care setting supporting children with SEN, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be required to:

Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Support small groups of children requiring additional intervention.
Assist pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs, and other learning barriers.
Help implement EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies.
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
Encourage the social, emotional and academic development of pupils.
Create a positive, engaging and safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

Have previous experience supporting children with SEN.
Have worked within a primary school, specialist provision, or children's care setting.
Are confident managing varying needs and behaviours.
Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Are patient, resilient and passionate about supporting children's development.
Can adapt quickly and make a positive impact from day one.
Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
