Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely make a difference?
Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist school in Barnet, supporting pupils aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs including Autism, complex learning difficulties and communication needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a specialist SEND environment and wants to be part of a supportive team where every pupil is given the opportunity to develop their confidence, independence and communication skills.
The role:
Supporting pupils with a range of complex SEND needs
Providing 1:1 and small-group support both inside and outside the classroom
Helping pupils develop their communication, independence and social skills
Supporting with personalised learning and differentiated activities
Using visual supports and communication strategies where appropriate
Working closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team
Supporting pupils with their emotional regulation and behaviour when required
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Potential involvement with personal care depending on the needs of the class
We're looking for:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
Experience with Autism, SLD, complex needs or communication difficulties is highly desirable
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Someone who is confident working as part of a wider team
Resilience and the ability to remain positive in challenging situations
A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potentialYou don't necessarily need a formal SEN qualification - we're particularly interested in people with the right attitude, relevant experience and a genuine passion for specialist education.
