Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex learning needs? An outstanding specialist school in the Watford area is seeking caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join its dedicated team from September 2026.

This purpose-built specialist provision supports pupils aged 2–19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and complex medical and physical needs. The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, exceptional facilities, and highly collaborative staff team, where every child is encouraged to develop independence, communication skills, and confidence in a safe and nurturing environment. Your Key Responsibilities

Support pupils throughout the school day with learning, communication, and daily routines
Assist with personalised learning programmes tailored to each student's individual needs
Promote the development of communication through visual resources, sensory activities, and assistive technology
Provide personal care and physical support with dignity and respect where required
Encourage pupils to develop social interaction, independence, and life skills
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent support
Observe, record, and communicate pupil progress to contribute to individual learning plans
Help create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every achievement is celebrated

About You

Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential
A genuine interest in working with pupils with complex learning difficulties and disabilities
Calm, patient, and resilient, with a positive approach to supporting individual needs
Comfortable providing personal care and supporting pupils with mobility where required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Able to commit to regular working days on either a full-time or part-time basis
Holds a DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS
