Contract: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Pay: £85–£105 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join the school from September 2026.

Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will support pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets. This role would suit both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and individuals passionate about building a career within special education.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with special educational needs both in and out of the classroom
Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities
Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies
Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals
Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress reviews
Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, or support settings
A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships and establish trust with pupils
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour when required
A willingness to learn and develop knowledge of special educational needs
A valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
