Teaching Personnel Opportunity
Are you a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role? Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and want to make a real difference in a specialist education setting?
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist school in Bolton, starting immediately.

This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 4–19 with a range of complex needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Associated communication and sensory needs

✅ Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN
Assist with personalised learning activities and lesson delivery
Support pupils with communication, sensory, and behavioural needs
Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement
Assist with personal care where required
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
Track and report on student progress and development
Requirements
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar role
Experience supporting ASC, PMLD, SLD, or complex needs (desirable)
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Confident supporting pupils with additional needs and challenges
Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or Psychology (desirable)
A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
