SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Mainstream Primary School, SEN Base
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support students with a range of needs, including autism, ASD, and ADHD, within our SEN base. This role is integral to ensuring that all our pupils receive the personalised support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with autism, ASD, ADHD, and other SEN, both in the SEN base and mainstream classroom settings.
Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs), adapting teaching methods to meet each child's unique needs.
Support the class teacher in creating a structured and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
Implement behaviour management strategies to help students remain focused and engaged.
Encourage the development of social skills and positive interactions among students.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in SEN support.Requirements:

Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
Understanding of autism, ASD, ADHD, and effective support strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one. What We Offer:
