SEN Teaching Assistant | Full-Time | September 2026 - July 2027
Location: East Dulwich, South East London
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday | 8:30am-4:00pm

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day? A welcoming mainstream primary school in East Dulwich is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and challenging behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships, encourage engagement and help a child achieve their full potential in the classroom.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and behavioural needs
Build a consistent, positive relationship to support emotional regulation and engagement
Implement behaviour strategies in line with the school's approach and individual support plans
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning and provide targeted support
Encourage positive social interactions, independence and confidence throughout the school day
Monitor progress and celebrate successes, both academically and personally

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a Teaching Assistant who has:

At least 1 year's experience supporting children with SEN or additional behavioural needs
Experience working with children with ADHD, challenging behaviour or social, emotional and mental health needs
Previous experience in a primary school, tuition, youth work or another child-focused setting
A calm, patient and resilient approach, with strong behaviour management skills
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
