SEN Teaching Assistant (High Needs) – Primary School
Location: Tulse Hill, Lambeth (SW2), South London
Contract: Full-time / Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

About the Role We are currently recruiting for a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Tulse Hill (SW2), Lambeth.
This role involves working closely with pupils with high needs Special Educational Needs, requiring a candidate who is experienced, adaptable and confident supporting children with complex profiles, including those who may require personal care.
This is a highly rewarding position for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with high needs SEN
Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
Support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional development
Implement strategies from EHCPs and guidance from the SENCO
Promote a structured, safe and inclusive learning environment
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parentsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have
Proven experience working with high needs SEN pupils
Confidence and willingness to support personal care needs
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needsDesirable (but not essential)
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent)
Experience in a primary school setting
Training such as Team Teach, manual handling, or safeguardingWhat We Offer
