* Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, SEMH and communication difficulties, 1:1 and in small groups

* Carry out learning plans, routines and behaviour strategies set by teachers and the SENCO

* Notice patterns in pupils’ behaviour and share them with the class team so strategies can be adjusted

* Help pupils with communication, regulation and independence through the school day

* Keep classroom routines calm and predictable, from morning arrivals to quiet-corner breaks

* Record progress and give clear feedback to teachers and therapy staff

* Build steady, trusting relationships with pupils over time

Requirements

* A degree in Psychology or Child Psychology or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning

* Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant in a special school

* Good understanding of needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties

* A clear, confident communicator with colleagues and families

* Calm and patient, including on the harder days

* Able to commit to a full-time, long-term placement

* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
