Supply Desk is seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in South Oxhey from September.

Working as part of a collaborative and experienced support team, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing. The Role

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of every pupil.
Adapt learning resources and activities to support pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and wider support team.
Support pupils with their social, emotional, communication, and behavioural development.
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and school events.
Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate

Has experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Education, or other appropriate qualification or has relevant experience.
Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom support skills.
Has a good understanding of SEND and the different barriers that can affect learning.
Is patient, caring, resilient, and committed to supporting children to reach their full potential.
Has the ability to build positive relationships and adapt their approach to meet individual pupil needs.
Promotes inclusive teaching practices and supports the needs of every child.
Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
