We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and progressive specialist school in Bristol that supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Speech & Language difficulties. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is supported to achieve their full potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide both classroom and 1:1 support, helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes. This is a highly rewarding role that would suit individuals who are patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Supporting students with Autism, SEMH and additional learning needs
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
Passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
