Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day
Start Date: September

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a local school in Eastleigh from September.

The school ensures high aspirations for all students, including those with learning difficulties. A Learning Support Team works with students, parents to overcome barriers of learning. Teachers adapt instruction to meet diverse needs, promoting independence and reducing reliance on adult support. Specialised interventions narrow skills gaps, while dedicated support staff address social and emotional needs. Ongoing monitoring and annual reviews support students with Education Health and Care Plans. Specific Learning Difficulties and Social, Emotional & Mental Health provisions cater to severe needs. The school maintains high expectations, prioritising individualised lesson planning and in-class support.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will –

Provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) in both academic and social settings.
Assist in the adaptation of lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of SEN students, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
Offer guidance and support to SEN students in managing behaviour, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers to ensure progress and well-being of SEN students.
Promote an inclusive school culture that values diversity and celebrates the achievements of all students, regardless of their abilities.
Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting SEN students effectively.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of SEN students during all activities and interactions, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements -

Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
