Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Supply Bank of Supporting Education Group, a partner of Teaching Personnel, is supporting a specialist SEN school in the Shrewsbury area with the recruitment of Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistants.
The school provides education and support for pupils and young people aged approximately 2 to 25 years, with a wide range of additional and complex special educational needs. The setting offers a highly supportive and specialist environment where staff work closely with pupils to promote their learning, communication, independence and personal development.

The Role
Support pupils with a wide range of SEN and complex learning needs
Assist teachers and specialist staff with learning and classroom activities
Provide individual and small-group support where required
Help pupils develop communication, social, emotional and independence skills
Support pupils with their personal development and engagement in learning
Encourage positive behaviour and participation throughout the school day
Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support staff
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Ideal Candidates Will Have
A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education, or a relevant equivalent qualification
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
Experience supporting pupils with SEN or complex needs is highly desirable
A patient, caring and adaptable approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work effectively as part of a specialist education team
A genuine interest in supporting children and young people to reach their potential
Requirements
Level 2 qualification is essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Relevant experience in education, childcare, SEN or support settings preferred
Reliability and flexibility to support regular morning bookings
