SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Various Mainstream Primary Schools
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, term-time only (with both short and long-term opportunities available)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a mainstream primary school?

We are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools. These roles offer flexibility to work across different year groups, supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs and helping them to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and promote inclusion.
Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and engagement.
Support teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
De-escalate situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals to implement support plans and monitor progress.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school setting.
Be confident delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.
Have experience managing challenging behaviour and using effective de-escalation techniques.
Be calm, patient, and resilient, with a positive approach to supporting pupils.
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Be passionate about helping every child succeed both academically and personally.
