SEN Teaching Assistant - Nottingham

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a primary school in Nottingham?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary schools in Nottingham and the surrounding areas.

Roles may involve one-to-one support, small-group work and classroom support for pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, learning needs or challenging behaviour.

We are looking for full-time and part-time candidates, with short-term and long-term opportunities available.

Responsibilities

Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND

Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs

Helping pupils access classroom learning through appropriate adaptations

Working towards targets outlined within EHCPs and individual support plans

Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Delivering targeted interventions where required

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

Helping pupils develop confidence and independence

Requirements

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND

Experience providing one-to-one support is highly desirable

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances where applicable and suitable professional references

Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible

Right to work in the UK
