Are you a nurturing and proactive ASD Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional learning needs?
Do you have experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through sensory activities and learning through play?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school provision based in Cardiff, CF5, supporting children aged 3 to 11 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The school provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment, with a strong focus on sensory learning and learning through play to encourage children's engagement, communication and development.
The school is looking to take on a proactive ASD Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the provision, delivering engaging sensory activities, encouraging positive interactions and providing individualised support to help children access learning and develop essential life skills.
The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable
Experience supporting children with ASD / Autism and Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
Experience using sensory learning activities and play-based approaches
A good understanding of communication difficulties and individual learning needs
A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting pupils in the classroom
A nurturing, patient and caring attitude with strong communication skills
