SEN Teaching Assistant

Horizon Teachers are pleased to be working with a welcoming Primary School in Redbridge who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils across the school on a 1:1 basis, helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom.
                                     
What you’ll be doing

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, helping them progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working across different year groups if required (Reception up to Year 6)
Working closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
Encouraging independence, developing social skills, and boosting self-esteem.
Providing personal care when required, such as assisting with toileting and supporting at mealtimes.
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families. 
What we’re looking for

Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting or within a similar care-focused role.
A flexible approach and willingness to support across different year groups where needed.
A patient, empathetic, and reliable individual who is confident supporting both learning and personal care.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
A genuine passion for helping children grow, succeed, and feel their very best every day.
