SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools and specialist settings in Bristol, supporting pupils with a variety of additional learning, behavioural and communication needs. These roles offer an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to make a genuine difference to their education, confidence and personal development.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils both within the classroom and on a 1:1 or small-group basis. You may work with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour, speech and language difficulties, complex learning needs and other additional needs. Your role will involve helping pupils access their learning, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement, and supporting them to develop greater independence and confidence. You may also be required to assist with interventions, structured activities and individual support plans.

The successful candidate will be patient, resilient and adaptable, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries. Previous experience within an SEN, specialist, behavioural or education setting is highly desirable, although candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered. We are particularly interested in individuals who are confident working with challenging behaviour and can remain calm and consistent in demanding situations.
