SEN Teaching Assistant

Description:

A fantastic mainstream primary school in Wandsworth is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to become part of a welcoming and supportive primary school.

The role will involve working with primary-aged pupils on both a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping children access learning while supporting their social, emotional and academic development.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.

Help children access classroom learning and activities.

Support pupils with their literacy and numeracy development.

Encourage children's confidence, independence and engagement with learning.

Provide calm and consistent behaviour support.

Adapt activities and resources according to individual pupil needs.

Work closely with class teachers, SEN staff and the wider school team.

Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff.

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant

Previous experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable.

Experience working with primary-aged children.

Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Calm, patient and positive approach to behaviour management.

Able to build strong and trusting relationships with children.

Enthusiastic about supporting pupils with additional needs.

Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Available to work full time, Monday to Friday.

Able to start ASAP.
