Teaching Assistant (PMLD)

Full Time | Term Time Only
£95 - £105 per day
SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a Teaching Assistant (PMLD) to join a primary school in Newham. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities within a specialist provision.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff, you will help pupils access learning, develop communication skills and achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with PMLD and complex needs
Assist with communication using PECS, communication boards, eye gaze and other AAC systems
Support sensory learning activities
Provide personal care where required
Promote independence and social interaction
Follow programmes set by teachers and therapists
Monitor pupil progress and engagement
Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex needs
Patient, resilient and caring approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to inclusion and equality
Confidence supporting pupils with personal care needs
Pay and Progression
Pay ranges from £95 to £105 per day, depending on relevant experience and specialist skills. Candidates with previous PMLD, complex needs, AAC communication or personal care experience may be considered for the higher end of the pay scale.
