We are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Cannock. This is a full time position starting in September 2026, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role for the successful candidate.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will support children within the classroom, deliver small group interventions, and provide one to one support where required. Your role will be to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and make progress towards their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs throughout the school day.

* Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.

* Provide one to one and small group support to help pupils achieve their learning objectives.

* Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, communication, and independence.

* Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.

* Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

* Build positive relationships with teaching staff, parents, carers, and external professionals.

* Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

* A degree, or be in their final year of university, in any subject, or relevant experience working with children or young people.

* Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential.

* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

* A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.
