Academics are working with a specialized SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school located in Sutton. Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Year 7 boy with Autism. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the life of a young learner, providing vital support and guidance in both academic and personal development.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one support to the designated student with Autism, assisting with academic tasks and fostering independence.
Implement strategies and interventions to support the student's learning and social integration within the school environment.
Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with the student, serving as a positive male role model.
Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
Monitor and record the student's progress, highlighting areas of strength and areas for development.
Support the student during transitions between lessons and activities, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals involved in the student's care, providing regular updates on progress and addressing any concerns.Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism or other SEN conditions is essential.
Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and familiarity with evidence-based interventions and approaches.
Male candidates are preferred, as the student responds better to a male role model.
Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or education are advantageous.Benefits:
