SEN Teaching Assistant required in High Wycombe to support pupils aged 7-19 with complex learning, communication, sensory and physical needs. Experience within SEN is highly desirable.
A specialist education setting in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7-19 with complex cognitive, sensory and communication needs. This is an opportunity for a professional with relevant SEN experience to work closely with teaching staff and specialist teams to help pupils develop communication, independence, physical skills and readiness to learn.

Your Responsibilities:
You will be expected to:
Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with complex additional needs
Assist pupils with communication, learning and engagement
Support the development of independence and life skills
Follow individual education, care and communication strategies
Work closely with teachers, therapists and other members of the wider team
Help pupils access lessons and activities by reducing barriers to learning
Support pupils' physical, sensory and emotional wellbeing
Encourage appropriate communication, choice-making and social interaction
Maintain a safe, calm and supportive learning environment
What We Are Looking For:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with complex SEN
Experience supporting communication, sensory or cognitive needs
A patient and consistent approach
The ability to follow personalised strategies and guidance
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine understanding of supporting pupils towards greater independence
Experience in a specialist school, SEN provision, care environment or similar setting
