GSL Education Kent Branch are looking for a caring and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within one of our amazing schools in Tonbridge. This role would suit someone who is patient, approachable, and keen to make a positive difference to children with additional learning needs.
Working as an Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will provide practical and emotional support throughout the school day, helping pupils take part in lessons and school activities. You will encourage independence, celebrate progress, and work alongside teachers to give each pupil the support they need.
What You Will Be Doing:
Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small-group basis
Help pupils access classroom activities and learning tasks
Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
Provide reassurance and support when pupils find situations challenging
Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
Follow individual support plans and classroom strategies
What We Are Looking For:
Previous experience as an SEN TA orworking with children or young people is desirable
SEN experience would be an advantage
A patient, calm, and encouraging nature
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in supporting pupils to reach their potential
Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to complete a new application
