SEN Teaching Assistant | Full-Time | September 2026 - July 2027
Location: East Dulwich, South East London
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday | 8:30am-4:00pm

Are you a patient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who thrives on helping children overcome barriers to learning? A supportive mainstream primary school in East Dulwich is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and behavioural needs.

This long-term opportunity would suit someone who is confident supporting children who may find behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement challenging. You'll play an important role in helping the pupil feel settled, develop positive relationships and access their learning successfully.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll work closely with the pupil and wider school team to provide tailored support. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing focused 1:1 assistance to a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and additional behavioural needs
Developing a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil
Supporting emotional regulation and helping the pupil remain engaged throughout the school day
Following agreed behaviour strategies and individual support approaches
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities and provide appropriate learning support
Encouraging independence, positive interactions and confidence
Keeping track of progress and recognising the pupil's academic and personal achievements

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A minimum of 1 year's experience working with children with SEN or behavioural needs
Experience supporting pupils with ADHD, challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
Previous experience within a primary school, tutoring, youth work or another child-centred environment
Strong patience, resilience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
Confident behaviour management and relationship-building skills
A caring and proactive approach to supporting children's development
A genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome challenges and reach their potential
