Specialist SEN School - Preston - Up to £600 per week - Full-Time - September Start

A specialist SEN school in Preston is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to join its experienced team. The school supports a diverse cohort of pupils with a broad spectrum of additional needs, making this an excellent opportunity to develop genuinely varied experience within specialist education.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide individualised support based on the needs, abilities, and EHCP outcomes of each pupil.

The school's diverse cohort includes pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, PMLD, physical disabilities, and speech and communication difficulties.

Your responsibilities could include:

Providing 1:1, small-group, and classroom support
Adapting activities for pupils with different learning and communication needs
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
Using visual, sensory, and communication strategies
Encouraging independence and developing essential life skills
Supporting pupils with physical and complex needs where required
Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals to deliver individualised supportThe varied nature of the school means adaptability is essential. One pupil may require support managing their emotions and engaging with learning, while another may require a highly personalised sensory and communication-based approach.
