Can you confidently adapt your approach to support pupils with SEND, behavioural challenges and emotional regulation needs, both inside and outside the classroom?

TeacherActive is working with a supportive and inclusive school in Derby (DE74) that is looking to appoint a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant. The school provides a positive learning environment with dedicated spaces for pupils who benefit from a quieter, more sensory-appropriate setting, allowing children to access learning in a way that best suits their individual needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver 1:1 support, facilitate small group interventions and adapt learning activities through play-based approaches and adaptive teaching. The role will involve supporting pupils in both the classroom and separate sensory-friendly learning spaces, assisting with personal care where required and using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and progress against Pre-Key Stage assessment standards.

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND through 1:1 interventions, small group activities and personalised learning
• A good understanding of the curriculum, adaptive teaching and Pre-Key Stage assessment standards
• Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies, sensory needs and approaches to supporting emotional regulation
• Confidence supporting pupils with personal care where required and adapting between classroom and sensory-friendly learning environments
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

In return for the above you can expect to receive:

• A dedicated team of consultants available 24/7 to help you with the easy onboarding process
• CPD courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
• Market-leading rates of pay
• TeacherActive Referral Scheme - Receive up to £100 when you refer a friend Terms and Conditions apply

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you’re paying the right level of TAX and National Insurance and there’s no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard earned cash.
