Reeson Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant with an interest in speech, language and communication support across the borough of Waltham Forest, East London, including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone and Chingford.

This opportunity suits a patient SEN Teaching Assistant who gives pupils time to communicate and can make instructions and classroom routines easier to understand.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay: £85.50-£110 per day, depending on experience and assignment.
Location: Waltham Forest, East London.
Start: ASAP, following registration and safeguarding checks.
Contract: Flexible supply and longer-term opportunities, depending on vacancies.Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant

You will support pupils with speech and language needs one-to-one and in small groups, following strategies agreed by teachers, SENCOs and relevant specialists.

Use visual resources and clear, manageable instructions.
Develop vocabulary, listening and interaction so pupils can participate more independently.
Reinforce specialist recommendations without working beyond your training.
Share observations on communication, participation and progress with the team.What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, or credible transferable experience supporting children with communication needs.
A SEN Teaching Assistant who listens carefully, uses consistent approaches and works well with school staff.
Experience with Makaton, PECS or speech and language programmes is advantageous.
