Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant confident supporting autistic pupils? Reeson Education is recruiting for school opportunities across the borough of Havering, East London, including Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster and Rainham.
We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who can combine clear routines with a flexible response to each pupil's communication and sensory needs.
Role Highlights for a SEN Teaching Assistant
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay: £85.50-£110 per day, depending on experience and assignment.
Location: Havering, East London.
Start: ASAP, following registration and safeguarding checks.
Contract: Flexible supply and longer-term opportunities, depending on vacancies.Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant
You will support autistic pupils one-to-one and in small groups in mainstream classrooms or specialist provision, helping them access learning and develop independence.
Follow individual support plans and use agreed communication strategies.
Help pupils prepare for transitions and access learning activities.
Recognise signs of distress and use the school's agreed support approaches.
Encourage independence and report useful observations to teachers and SENCOs.What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, or relevant transferable experience supporting autistic children or young people.
A SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, dependable and confident working within a school team.
Specialist provision experience and knowledge of visual supports are advantageous.
