Job Overview:
Tradewind are looking for a passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school community in Hackney. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs. The position starts in September 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support and assistance to students with special educational needs.
Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
Assist in the preparation and adaptation of teaching materials to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor and report on the progress and development of students.
Help with personal care tasks, where necessary.
Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and engagement.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of SEN strategies within the school.Requirements:
Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
