Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - SEN school

Location: Outskirts of Exeter, UK

Salary: £85 to £95 per day depending on experience

Contract: Temporary to permanent position

Hours: Full-time (8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday)

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join an amazing specialist school on the outskirts of Exeter. The school practices a trauma informed approach to learning, and we require a dedicated and resilient individual to work with secondary age students who have trauma based needs.

The successful candidate will work on a 1-1 or small group basis with students who often display challenging behaviour. You will be responsible for supporting students with their academic and emotional needs, ensuring they have access to a safe and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

- Supporting secondary age students with trauma based needs on a 1-1 or small group basis

- Providing emotional and academic support to students

- Developing and delivering targeted interventions to meet individual needs

- Liaising with teachers and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration

- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievement

Requirements:

- Experience of working with secondary age students with trauma based needs, preferably in a specialist setting

- A resilient and compassionate approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- The ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
