The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with teachers, and other support staff to ensure that every child receives the personalized attention and care they need to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons and activities that meet the needs of each student.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to create a holistic approach to student development.
Help students develop essential life skills and promote their social and emotional well-being.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

A genuine passion for working with children with SEN: Your enthusiasm and dedication should shine through in every interaction.
Relevant qualifications: A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience is highly desirable but however, it’s not mandatory.
Experience working with children with SEN: Prior experience in a similar role will give you a head start.
Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
Patience and empathy: A calm and understanding approach to working with children who have diverse needs.
Flexibility and adaptability: The ability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
Team player mindset: Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a supportive team culture.
Knowledge of SEN best practices and Safeguarding: Familiarity with different types of SEN and effective support strategies.
