JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:
Supporting the educational and social development of students with special educational needs (SEN)
Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of SEN students
Collaborating with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support student progress
Providing one-to-one support for students with SEN to help them access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
Required Qualifications:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
Experience working with children with SEN
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
Experience:
Prior experience working in a school or educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and resilience
Preferred Qualifications:
SEN-specific training or qualifications
First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
The role may involve some physical activity and occasional exposure to challenging behaviours. Working hours are typically during school hours, with additional time for planning and meetings as required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
