SEN Learning Support Assistants - Specialist School
Location: Whetstone, North London
Salary: £95-£120 per day PAYE
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, with potential for permanent opportunities
Tradewind Recruitment is looking for caring, resilient and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist secondary setting in North London, supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), autism and associated learning needs.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning and creating a calm, supportive environment where they can thrive.
The role:
Supporting pupils aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs.
Helping students manage emotions, anxiety and challenging behaviour.
Building trusting relationships and encouraging engagement with learning.
Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver consistent, individualised support.
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly SEMH.
Is calm, patient and confident managing challenging situations.
Understands the importance of positive behaviour support and de-escalation.
Can build strong relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
Is reliable, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed.
Experience in an SEMH school, PRU, alternative provision or specialist setting would be particularly beneficial.
