Location: North London
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Setting: Primary School
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £100–£120 per day, depending on experience

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in North London.

The school is looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may require additional support with their learning, behaviour, communication and emotional regulation.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.

* Support children with needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.

* Help pupils remain engaged and access learning within the classroom.

* Support teachers with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.

* Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and emotional regulation.

* Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other members of the school team.

* Support pupils during lessons, transitions, break times and other activities throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from candidates who:

* Have previous experience working with children or young people.

* Ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or challenging behaviour.

* Are patient, resilient and confident when working with pupils who may require additional support.

* Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.

* Are reliable, enthusiastic and able to work effectively as part of a team.

* Have a genuine passion for helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Experience within a school is desirable; however, we are also interested in candidates from backgrounds such as youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, care, psychology and other child-focused roles.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive North London primary school and gain valuable long-term experience working with children with additional needs.

The role would particularly suit someone looking to develop a career within education, SEN, teaching, psychology, pastoral support or behaviour mentoring.
