Reeson Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting autistic pupils across schools and SEN settings in Southampton, Hampshire.

Role Highlights for a SEN Teaching Assistant

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience and assignment.
Location: Southampton, Hampshire.
Start: ASAP, following registration and safeguarding checks.
Contract: Flexible supply and longer-term opportunities, depending on vacancies.Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant

You will provide one-to-one and small-group autism support, adapting your approach to each pupil's communication, sensory and learning needs.

Follow individual support plans and use visual timetables or communication aids.
Prepare pupils for changes in routine and transitions between activities.
Adapt tasks and prompts to encourage participation and independence.
Work with teachers and SENCOs, recording observations that help review support.What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, or credible transferable experience supporting autistic children or young people.
A SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, observant and consistent when responding to individual needs.
Knowledge of Makaton, PECS or sensory support is helpful where relevant to the assignment.
