About the Role:

We are delighted to be working with a fantastic school in Hornchurch that is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team starting in September 2024. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Job Description:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing support to students with diverse learning needs. Your main responsibilities will include:

Providing Individualised Support: Delivering tailored assistance to students with SEN in both one-on-one and group settings.
Collaboration: Working alongside teachers, therapists, and other staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and effective support strategies.
Encouraging Inclusion: Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
Monitoring Progress: Assessing and recording student progress, providing feedback, and adjusting support strategies as needed.
Classroom Assistance: Assisting the class teacher with general classroom duties, including preparing materials and managing classroom behaviour.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience: Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of SEN best practices.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support.
Skills: Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Knowledge: Familiarity with various SEN conditions and effective support techniques.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the varying needs of students and the school environment.
