SEN TA/Support Worker – Northfield

Colmore Education is currently recruiting for a caring, compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join a specialist school in Northfield.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils' learning, communication, personal development and overall wellbeing.

The Role

As an SEN Support Worker, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs.

* Support pupils with their learning, communication and personal development.

* Assist pupils with developing independence and essential life skills.

* Support pupils with physical, sensory and communication needs.

* Build positive, trusting and respectful relationships with pupils.

* Follow individual support plans and contribute to pupils' development.

* Work closely with teachers, therapists, SENCOs and other professionals.

* Support pupils with emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.

* Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

* Provide appropriate personal care support where required and in accordance with school policies.

* Encourage pupils to participate in activities and experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

About You

* Comfortable working with pupils with PMLD and significant learning difficulties.

* Calm, resilient and able to respond positively to individual needs.

* A good communicator and confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

* Respectful of pupils' dignity, independence and individual choices.

* Reliable, adaptable and committed to safeguarding.

* Willing to learn and develop their knowledge of specialist SEN support.

Previous experience working with PMLD, complex needs, SEN, care or within a specialist school setting is highly desirable. Experience within a care, healthcare or support environment may also be considered.

DBS Requirement

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must hold a valid Child and Adult DBS or be willing to undergo the appropriate DBS checks prior to commencing work
