SEN Teaching Assistant

Telford
£100-£115 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Telford. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them to access education, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Working as part of a dedicated and experienced team, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

About the Role

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN support team, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH, and Complex Learning Needs
Supporting pupils to access learning through personalised interventions and differentiated activities
Assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Encouraging independence, communication, and social interaction throughout the school day
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation using positive behaviour management strategies
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure pupils receive the best possible support
Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback to teaching staff

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
A good understanding of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language Needs, or Complex Needs
Patient, caring, and resilient, with a nurturing approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
Reliable, proactive, and committed to supporting pupils on a long-term basis
A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve their full potential
