A welcoming specialist SEN school in Chorley is looking to appoint a committed SEN Teaching Assistant from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced support staff, alongside candidates hoping to develop careers in SEN Education, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Social Work, or related professions.
The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a variety of additional needs, potentially including Autism, ADHD, MLD, SLD, speech and communication difficulties, and SEMH needs.
Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals, you will use EHCPs to understand each child's individual needs, identify barriers to learning, and implement appropriate strategies and interventions.
Just as importantly, you will build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and greater engagement with education.
