SEN Teaching Assistant

Specialist SEN School - Burnley - Up to £600 per week - Full-Time - September Start

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Do you have experience in SEN, care, support work, youth work, sports coaching, or mentoring that you would like to apply within a specialist school?

A welcoming specialist SEN school in Burnley is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff, as well as candidates looking to develop long-term careers in SEN Education, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Social Work, or related fields.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils with a diverse range of additional needs, potentially including Autism, ADHD, MLD, SLD, speech and communication difficulties, and SEMH needs.

You will provide 1:1, small-group, and classroom support, adapting your approach to the individual strengths and needs of each pupil. Working closely with teachers and specialist support staff, you will use EHCPs to guide your practice, deliver targeted interventions, and help identify and remove barriers to learning.
