Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN Support) - Cwmbran, Torfaen
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children’s education and development? We are seeking a motivated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Cwmbran, Torfaen. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners, particularly within the special educational needs (SEN) sector.
In this position, you will provide high-quality classroom support to pupils, ensuring an inclusive and positive learning environment. Working closely with the class teacher, you will deliver tailored support to meet individual pupil needs, assist in planning and implementing learning activities, and support students with SEN to foster their social and academic development. You will contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organised classroom while promoting independence and confidence among pupils. The role also involves undertaking personal care responsibilities as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide classroom support to pupils with diverse needs, fostering an inclusive environment
* Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities
* Support pupils with SEN to enhance their social and academic skills
* Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and organised classroom
* Promote pupil independence and confidence
* Undertake personal care responsibilities as necessary
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, ideally within primary or SEN settings
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Competence in personal care
* A caring, patient, and proactive attitude
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
* Flexibility to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
