Description:

Some young people don't need another teacher. They need someone who gets them.

Someone who can stay calm when emotions run high. Someone who sees beyond the behaviour and understands the person underneath.

If you've worked as a Youth Worker, Support Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Sports Coach, Care Worker, or in a similar role supporting young people, your experience could make a life-changing difference in an SEN or SEMH school.

What you'll be doing

You'll be supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including:

Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Speech and Language difficulties
Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties
No two days are the same, but you'll spend your time building relationships, encouraging engagement, celebrating small wins, and helping pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

Why this role suits Youth Workers

You've already developed the skills schools value most:

✔ Building trust with young people
✔ Managing challenging behaviour positively
✔ Supporting emotional regulation
✔ Remaining calm under pressure
✔ Creating meaningful connections

These skills can't be taught from a textbook. They're built through experience, and they're exactly what our schools are looking for.

The schools

We're working with a range of specialist SEN and SEMH settings where staff genuinely make a difference every day.

These schools support pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education and need patient, consistent adults who believe in their potential.

One good day can change a young person's outlook. One trusted adult can change their future.

What we're looking for

Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults
Youth work, care, coaching, mentoring, or support work experience is highly valued
A resilient, positive and empathetic approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
